Last Meeting of the Season

Darlington Raceway

Our last meet of the 2013/14 season saw us travel to Darlington Raceway.

The oldies Stephen Bowen and Ian Nisbet were there to shed some experience along with our young gun cheif crewman Mitch Smith and of course our lovely ladies Lauren, Jemma and Emily. With the mix of the crew how could Just not hit the track in style and with the best of both worlds.

We finished our season off exactaly how we intended with Justin showing off his skills he has been fine tuning over the course of his first season. Justin finished the feature with a personal best cracking the top ten coming home in 10th position. This is the hgihest placing all season, what a way to go out!!!

Easter Trail - Rosedale & Bainsdale Speedways

Over the weekend the team consisting of Justin, Jemma, Micth and Lauren travelled up to Rosedale and Bainsdale speedways for the Mini Easter Trail.

Night one saw the car set up for the first couple of heats not quite right, but the boys true to form left their best set up till last and Justin's driving was outstanding. The V33 came home like a bullet, steaming home from position 17th to finish in 11th place.

Night two and we enetered Bainsdale speedway, once again the young team struggled slighty with set up, still in our first season every little thing is a learning curb. But once again the team prevailed and Justin had his best ever yet qualifying position in the A Main coming out of 11th position. The track unfortunately developed into one liner which didnt give much opportunity for overtaking and Justin was able to bring her home in 11th place.

All round a great and solid performance from the team and great driving from the rookie himself Justin Bowen.

The rookie steers on

Unlike some drivers who have come up through the ranks of juniors or have eperience racing in other classes. Justin has never until this season been behind the wheel of a race car. And no on would have picked it.

Yes the 21yr still has a very long jounery ahead of him and a lot to learn and some big shoes to fill, I mean speedway is in the family and big cousins Mat and Adam are out there showing him how its done but Justin has been able to hold his own and hasn't been pushed around. Even getting up on the high line and showing everyone his not afraid to party with the fence.

What does the future behold, who knows only time will tell. But we think the future looks bright.

Saturday 21st June, Justin and the team attended the Victorian Formual 500 Presentation Dinner in Warnnambool. We had the crew consisting of Mitch, Jemma, Lauren and Shaynee and of course Justin himself there along with Justin's Mum Sandy and partmer George, Jemma's Mum Debbie and partner Akram. So it was a big family affair.

The team was awarded best presented car and crew for the 2013/2014 season. This was a great way in recognising how fantastic our crew looks and the effort put in by all, in particular the girls who are always pushing the boundries and going to the extremes with even nails in the team colours! After receiving the award Justin made a speech and true to form had the crowd roaring of laughter througout and went out on the line of "watch out boys cause next season I'm coming for ya's!"

Along with this Justin accomplishing his goal for the season which was to finish in the top ten for the Stamepede Series in which he finished 8th overall!. What a rookie season for our boy Justin, who has never even been behind the wheel before and who would have thought! His blown us away and exceeded all expectations.

Bring on 2014/2015 Season cause as its been said he is coming for you boys!
